We're Donating Our Profits
For the past couple weeks I've been donating Toothache profits to the James Beard Food and Beverage Industry Relief Fund, and I will continue to do this for the next week or two. Without the help, I worry that many great restaurants will not survive this COVID-19 pandemic. This magazine has always been for the industry and I want to give back to all of the cooks, bartenders, and servers that have supported Toothache over the years.
This crisis has hit close to home here as well. I'm a pastry chef in San Francisco, and for the first time in my career, I applied for unemployment. The past few weeks have been super weird and stressful, but I'm devoting as much time as possible while isolated to work on Toothache Magazine. I know that there are a lot of people asking you to donate money, and if you have a favorite restaurant asking for help, please support them! If not, get a Toothache subscription while you're sheltered in place. If you have all the Toothache magazines and still want to support, then buy a magazine for a recently laid off hospitality friend to give them something inspiring to read during this uncertain time.
Whether or not you have the budget to purchase magazines right now, we want to thank you for supporting Toothache. We can’t wait for chefs to return to the kitchen, so we can eat their fantastic food and get back to featuring them in future issues.
